Autumn Pre Trip Report
‘Twas the Night before Disney, and all through the house …
Novelty T-Shirts and loose socks were strewn about the living room as Aunt Liz carefully measured every bag to find the biggest one that were still small enough for a Spirit airlines “personal item.”
That’s right, folks, Aunt Liz and Aunt H are headed back to the World tomorrow for a short, impromptu trip. This will be our third (and last) trip on our AP, which expires at the end of October. We won’t be renewing this year — the Aunts need to make some less-fun choices about saving money.
I asked Aunt H if we could go in October if I found flight+hotel for less than $500. Thanks to the magic of Priceline and the “magic”of Spirit, I did. We’ll be staying at the Wyndham Garden Disney Springs for two nights, and at Pop Century for one.
No huge plans for this trip — we won’t be doing the Halloween Party, and I haven’t made any dining reservations. I’m looking forward to spending a little more time at Disney Springs than we usually do, staying off-site for the firstish time (we stayed one night at the Dolphin last year), and checking out the premier of Epcot Forever on October 1 (Stay tuned for a full review!) We’re planning on taking full advantage of Extra Extra Magic Hours (fun fact! Disney Springs currently get this perk too!) and checking out Galaxy’s Edge, as well as enjoying an early morning strolling down Main Street. Even less that 60 days out, we got Fast Passes for Flights of Passage, SDMT, and Frozen Ever After. Fingers crossed that low crowds continue through our stay — I’ve been listening to way, way too many podcast trip reports talking about E-tickets being a walk on and Smugglers Run having less than hourlong waits. But even if it’s crowded, we’ll have a fabulous time.
Our flight arrives around 1 p.m. We plan to Uber to Epcot for an avocado margarita and some chips and queso at La Cava del Tequila before ambling on over to Magic Kingdom to hit some Fast Passes and see Mickey and Minnie in their special birthday clothes before they change that meet and greet back to its normal Magician Mickey. For now, though, it’s last minute packing and notes for the petsitter.
See ya real soon!
